ABOUT
GREAAT works closely with industry, government, public services, charities, healthcare providers, education providers, and community organisations to help make accessibility a practical and embedded part of everyday work. The aim is to move accessibility beyond compliance and towards meaningful, real-world inclusion in the design, delivery, and evaluation of products, services, systems, and policies.
Through collaboration with public and private sector partners, GREAAT supports organisations to understand accessibility needs, identify barriers, share good practice, and explore how emerging technologies can improve access and participation. This includes working with organisations on inclusive digital services, accessible workplaces, assistive technologies, user experience, training, policy development, and the responsible use of AI and data-driven tools.
The initiative also creates opportunities for knowledge exchange between researchers, practitioners, disabled people, policymakers, and service providers. By connecting academic expertise with real-world challenges, GREAAT helps organisations develop more inclusive approaches that are informed by evidence, lived experience, and practical implementation needs.

- ICADS 2025

ICADS 2025 has now taken place at Cardiff University, bringing together colleagues, researchers, practitioners, and members of the wider digital and accessibility community.
This year’s event featured two excellent keynote speakers: Prof. Harold Thimbleby from Swansea University and Dr Evangelia Chrysikou from the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at UCL. Their talks offered valuable perspectives and helped frame important discussions around design, accessibility, digital public services, and the role of research in shaping better futures.
The event was hosted by Joanna Goodwin, Head of User Experience at the Centre for Digital Public Services, and Fernando Loizides, Director of Cardiff University’s Data Science Academy.
ICADS 2025 was held in collaboration with BCS HCI 2025, creating a strong opportunity to connect academic research, public service practice, and human-centred design. We would like to thank our speakers, attendees, and collaborators for helping make the event a success.
